CABOTINAGE n. m. Action de cabotin, c’est-à-dire de personne qui joue une comédie bruyante pour se faire valoir ou arriver à ses fins. Les politiciens sont passés maîtres dans l’art du cabotinage. Il ne faut pas oublier que tout cabotinage décèle un manque plus ou moins grand de sincérité. Il ne faut donc jamais donner créance aux cabotins.

HAM-ACTING n. Act of the ham or poser, the person who puts on a noisy act in order to assert themselves or reach their goals. The politicians are past masters in the art of hamming it up. We must never forget that all posing reveals some lack of sincerity. We must never give credence to the posers.
